Perfect Pose (Siddhasana)
Siddhasana, also called the Perfect or Accomplished pose, is a yoga position for beginners. The name of the pose is derived from two samkrta words: 'Siddha', which means perfect or accomplished, and 'Asana', which means pose. This pose is perfect for meditation and may help reduce stress and anxiety levels.
How to Execute Siddhasana:
- Start by sitting on the floor with your legs straight in front of your body.
- Bend the left leg inward and place the left heel toward the muladhara chakra (the base of your perineum, or on the base of your spine).
- Place your right heel directly on top of your left, pressing onto the svadhisthana chakra (the sex organ's root).
- Between the left thigh and calf muscles, press the toes and edge of the right foot.
- At this point, make sure that your position is relaxed and comfortable, with your spine fully aligned.
- Place both hands on your knees, palms facing upward with your chin looking straight.
